LAMMAS RITUAL

A Wiccan Ritual Celebrating the First Harvest!

What: Cauldron Kitty and the Circle of the Sacred Flame’s public ritual in celebration of Lammas. In traditional Pagan custom, Lammas is the first of three harvest festivals, and marks the end of summer. This ritual will honor the Lady and her Lord as we give thanks for the many gifts we have received in our lives. And afterwards, as always, there’s time to share in the potluck meal with friends old and new


When:
Saturday, July 31st, 2010. 
Time: Arrival at 7:30 PM, start 8:00 PM SHARP


Where:
MCC IN THE VALLEY
5730 Cahuenga Blvd, North Hollywood, 91601. This is about a half block north of Burbank Blvd on the east side of the street. 


From CauldronKitty - 5 freeway north to the 134 west (Ventura). Exit Cahuenga Blvd, (two exits past Disney/ABC) turn right (north), go 1.4 miles - just past Burbank Blvd, the MCC is on the right.

Please Bring: A ritual donation of $5 (no one will be turned away for lack of funds), a can of food for Food Pantry, a chalice, goblet or drinking cup; a potluck dish to share and your preferred beverage. Also – MCC in the Valley is a Green facility, so please bring your own feast-ware (plate, fork, spoon, etc) and join their effort to save our planet.

WICCA WORKSHOP
A Four Week Study Course

Because it was so popular, we again present our course in Wicca! Four weeks, in depth classes, suitable for beginners or more advanced students. This course is designed to be taken consecutively, but can be taken individually. We encourage you to sign up for the entire course to benefit from the discount, certificate of completion and to secure your spot. The certificate of completion will be awarded to each student who completes all four classes.

When: Sundays
July 11th, 18th & 25th
August 1st
5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Where: At Cauldron Kitty Store

Week one: What is Wicca?- beliefs, rules, goals, and how they tie into the Wiccan Rede. Creating sacred space, the elements, colors, some basic does and don'ts.

Week two: The Foundations- rituals, the sabbats, esbats, grounding and centering. Tools – what they’re used for, where to find them, how to cleanse and bless them.

Week three: Divination- there’s a million ways to predict the future – here’s some of them . . .magic mirrors, crystal balls, tarot, runes, use of a pendulum . . . fire gazing, palm reading, tea leaves, and more.

Week four: Spellwork- where, when, how, what, and why - and maybe why not! Practical magic and how to perform it - successfully - for the good of all. Also, we’ll finish up the class with a consecration of a piece of jewelry, or one of your tools.

Cost: Save $20 when you for pay in advance for all four classes ($120)
or $35 per single class ($140 total)

Instructors: Michael Riley & James Stuart.
Their coven currently provides public ritual, sponsored by Cauldron Kitty. Their Wiccan Order is a Gardnerian derived, inter-disciplinary, Wiccan order dedicated to teaching Magic and Religion, and performing public ritual for the benefit of the greater pagan community.

About Michael: As a practicing pagan since reading the MISTS OF AVALON in the early 1980's, Michael began studying seriously in the early 1990's and became one of the founding members of the his Wiccan Order, As High Priest, chief ritualist, and alchemist for the Order, his knowledge of ritual, practical spell work and magical herbalism give him a unique perspective on modern urban paganism. Michael enjoys classic movies, reading tarot cards, and creating incense and other concoctions for metaphysical use. He also contributed several recipes to Jamie Wood's THE WICCA HERBAL, and is currently stocks a line of incenses for Cauldron Kitty.

About James: James is an elder and acting Head of their Wiccan Order. He has been a practicing Neo-pagan for over forty years, and considers his mother to be his first teacher. He has been an original member of his Wiccan order since its inception in 1997. James’ interest and main field of study in Wicca is Herbalism, both practical and magical, and he is a senior member of the Southern California Renaissance Herbal Council. He follows a Celtic, particularly Gaulish pantheon.

MIDSUMMER RITUAL
A Wiccan Ritual Celebrating the Summer Solstice!

What: Cauldron Kitty and the Circle of the Sacred Flame’s public ritual in celebration of Midsummer. In traditional Pagan custom, Midsummer, the Summer Solstice, marks the height of summer, and the longest day of the year. Tonight’s ritual will honor Apollo and Aphrodite as we work together to bring perfect love and perfect truth into our lives. And afterwards, as always, there’s time to share in the potluck meal with friends old and new

BELTAINE RITUAL
A Wiccan Ritual Celebrating the Coming of Summer!

What: Cauldron Kitty’s public ritual in celebration of the Feast of Beltaine. In traditional Pagan custom, Beltaine, or May Day marks the beginning of summer, and the heat of passion. Tonight’s ritual will have a definite Romani feel – you might want to dress in your gypsy best, and be prepared to dance the night away to the sound of a crying violin. And afterwards, as always, there’s time to share in the potluck meal with friends old and new.

When: Saturday, May 1st, 2010.

Time: 8:00PM on time. Arrival starts at 7:30PM.
